About Pernell Spohn Customs
Starting out as a one-man autobody shop almost 40 years ago, Pernell Spohn specialized in frame, body, and paint work. As he honed those skills and learned new ones, he took on the challenge of restoring a 1969 Firebird he bought as a teenager for himself. What started as a weekend project turned into a passion. Pernell started to do body and paint work for customer restorations while continuing his own builds on the side. As time went on customer restorations became a norm; with the scope and quality of the projects becoming bigger and better each time.
Flash forward to today: Pernell and his sons are working to make the full transition to restorations, and restomods with a focus on high-end-one-off custom builds. For these high-end builds, we are capable of integrating modern chassis, suspension, and drivetrains. We can deliver the best of both worlds by keeping and highlighting the classic features while sculpting the body with a modern flare. With our high caliber craftmanship, quality, and creative vision; our builds can stand toe to toe with the best in the business.
We hope that as we go down this road our business continues to grow; meaning we can bring more and more dream cars to life.

Meet Our Team
Pernell Spohn
Over the years, Pernell has worked in many jobs. From joining his father full time on construction sites starting at 12 years old, to working as a chemist out of college. All the while, he worked on cars on the side. His self-taught skills with body, paint, and framework came from the simple fact that those were the only things his father could not do. A couple years after working as a chemist, with the support of his soon to be wife, he would quit his job and go all in on autobody and framework. His original plan was to do the autobody work until he could save up enough to start his own construction company. Between his growing success with his garage and starting a family with his now wife, Pernell would shelve that plan and continue on his path. That path leading to where he is today, building restomods and high-end-one-off custom builds with his sons.
Spencer Spohn
Growing up, Spencer spent a large part of his early life in the garage: watching, learning, and working with his dad throughout the years. Despite his love and appreciation for cars, he originally didn’t plan to work for his dad. Instead, he went to school for engineering and planned to work in the defense industry. During Covid, his time back home reignited his interest in classic cars and he began to work with his dad again. Over the next couple of years, he would work as an engineering tech until eventually working full time with his dad and brother. He hopes to help carry his father’s legacy forward while pushing the boundaries and scope of the builds in the years to come.
Jonah Spohn
Jonah grew up with a love of all things with motors: riding quads, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and jet skis. He spent much of his childhood helping his dad build and restore classic cars. His passion for cars really took off when he built his first car at 15, a 2005 Subaru WRX made from two wrecked vehicles. After high school, he attended Pennsylvania College of Technology earning an associate’s degree of science in automotive technology. After graduating, Jonah worked as a Land Rover & Jaguar technician, and an engine machinist before coming to work and partner with his father full time in 2021. Now Jonah works side by side with his father and brother, fulfilling his dream of building custom cars.
